SHIT-ori Day!

Herru everybody! Today is Friday which means it's Shitori day! Nope it's not a bad word! Shitori is a Japanese word game where you just simply say a word that starts with the last letter of the previous word. Very simple isn't it? But wait, there's more! To make it more interesting, each word will stand for something associated for our topic of the day!

Since it's Friday the 13th, I thought it's only fitting to pay homage to the queen of "lagim" herself, Ms. Janet Lim Napoles. She will be our HOT topic of the day so let's start to grill her now!

Starting with her name,

JANET - Just Another Name for Embezzlement and Theft...which leads to TAKIP...

TAKIP - Take and Keep In the name of Politics...which can be found inside her PWET...

PWET - Philippine Wealth Enriching TRAPOs...which means...

TRAPOs - Talented Robbers Acting as Public Officials...which are commonly found in the SENATE...

SENATE - Sotto, Enrile, Nasan si Honasan?, Angara, Tatay ni Jolo, & Ejercito...who are known to be EPAL...

EPAL - Escape the Philippines After Lying...they do this before it results to LICHON...

LICHON - Lethal Injection, Cilia Electrica, Hanging Or (as usual) Nothing...so they just keep doing NACAW...

NACAW - Normally Acting Corrupt for Wealth...and in the end they still WIN...

WIN - Without Intention of getting Nabbed...just like from the start, they just go back to NAPOLES...

NAPOLES - NGO Accounts by Public Officials Leaving Everyone to Suffer...and that is the end!

See you again next week for another Shit-ori game! As a bonus, I'm leaving you with a word to start your own game! Please comment below to start. Once again, thank you and have a SHIT-ori day!

BUWAYA - Boys with Unlimited Withdrawal Access from Your Account...

When A Door Closes...

I can't believe it! I almost did it again. It's now over two years since my last blog post. All of a sudden, I find the urge to write about something today. Actually, I don't have a specific thing in mind so I guess we'll just go with the flow. I remember the last time I posted something was back when I barely have enough time to write about something. On the contrary today, I was inspired by not having anything to do at all. I hate to admit it, but it is what it is. I have been officially a "BUM" for almost 3 weeks now. But I have to say it's not my fault (like every other bum would say). I was merely a victim of corporate something something...you know what I mean. In my defense (why am I defending myself anyway?), the company I used to work at is now "technically"closed. I say technically because the company or entity still exists but there are no more employees (except for our CEO I think). How did this happen? Here's what happened...

Earlier this year, there is one relatively "big" company that agreed to purchase the company I used to work at. We were led to believe that the sale of the company to this other company is the best option for everyone including the board members. We'll get new funding, our stocks will be worth a lot and we have the option to convert it to the new stocks which are currently publicly traded, and we will be offered a position and possibly with better compensation by the new company acquiring us. Well as it turns out, the company trying to purchase us is as cheap as chips and is extremely stingy. They actually laid off quite a few employees of their own and had to sell their "international" division (there's no other division) which were all happening while they still try to buy our company. This company even caused us about a month delay on our paychecks! Imagine living paycheck to paycheck and not getting two! Something is clearly not right. I guess this is some tactic that they normally use to drive down the purchase amount of our company to where they wanted it (out of our desperation). Of course like a virgin, we did not give in right away, which unfortunately resulted to changing the terms of sale to become just an "asset" purchase. They are not buying the whole company anymore but just the assets of the company. Just like that, our eggs became addle (more like century eggs).

There are a lot of details to this transaction that I still don't understand (and honestly don't care anymore) but what was clear is that the company had to lay off all of us in order to proceed with the transaction but still failed to close the deal on the anticipated time period (that's eggs in their faces). So now, we didn't get any funding, our stocks are worth nothing and our jobs - well, we're still looking. In short, eggs, eggs, eggs. I guess never count your chicks if you don't have any eggs or whatever (too many egg references now). Well the good thing is that I got approved for unemployment benefits which is at least more than enough to pay my rent and keep me going.

Life goes on and you'll never know what's going to happen. You can anticipate things but it will never be 100% guaranteed. We just need to be positive and hope for the best. As the saying goes, "when a door closes, it will break your heart!"

Start Over...

Oh my! After 3 long years, as I was reminded to open my "old" yahoo mail, I saw my old blog posts on "friendster" blog site and the countless individuals (legitimate and spammers) still commenting on them. After several unsuccessful attempts of accepting their comments or at least opening my blog site, I finally gave up and search for the reason why I was having these issues. I found out that "friendster" just recently erased everything on their social networking site to launch an "improved" site?!? REALLY? All my photos, posts, comments, messages, friends and blogs were completely erased from the face of the internet!!! Huwhatttttt??? I am so disappointed!

That is when I remembered that I used to have this blog site where I originally planned to transfer my posts but unfortunately and stupidly forgot to until it was too LATE! Now all I can do is start over and maybe get inspired once again to create or recreate my often humorous and somewhat witty posts!

Until next time...Hopefully less than 3 years :)

Sabi Nila (They Say)...

Introduction

Well, it's becoming more and more difficult nowadays to get inspiration to write happy stories especially if you are being surrounded by things that are often negative (i.e. politics, economics, and statistics). That's why I decided to create a new blog-novela based on current events which, more often than not, affect our way of living. I call this blog-novela "SABI NILA" or they say when translated in english. Of course majority of the news and information that we receive everyday are from other people or from different forms of media (e.g. internet, tv, radio, newspaper, etc.) which are writen or told by other people too. Also, Pinoys often times love to engage in a conversation involving other people's lives. It is more commonly known in tagalog as "tsismis" or gossip. There is something in "tsismis" that makes us quite interested. Maybe it's the title of the story or the person(s) involved or the emotions involved (i.e., love, fear, excitement, anger, and joy) which are carefully phrased and mostly exaggerated in the story. But whatever it is, we still dig it. Not surprisingly, people from other cultures also do the same. I already met a lot of people from different race and colors that also share the same enthusiasm for "tsismis." It happens more commonly in offices, schools, bars and restaurants or fast-food chains. As long as the person involved is not around (or at least assumed not to be), the conversation will last forever. Tsismisan, chikahan, daldalan, usi, and bungangaan, are just some of the terms we use to describe this form of communication.

Hallo everybody!

I'm so excited to create more entertaining blogs, now that I have a blog site dedicated only for blogging. Hehe. I still thank Friendster Blog though. I was able to express my funny side and create my own unique style of blogging. Not just what I think, or what other people think, or even the society's mainstream thoughts reflect, but mainly on the formulation of these thoughts into the best medicine known to man - LAUGHTER. Hopefully, I will be constantly inspired to create more entertaining blogs to share to others in exchange for free laughs. Hahaha...

Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Naku! Ang sosyal na ng bagong blog ku...Mukhang talagang seryoso na 'tu.
(Wow! The sosi of the new blog me...Facing really serious this is.) Hahaha...
